How can you say that the Yuhme water bottle is the World's most environmentally friendly?
Because in terms of the most urgent challenges we face together as humanity from climate change and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, there is not another bottle on the market with a lowerCO2 footprint. The bottle is also produced from sugarcane which is a renewable resource, unlike stainless steel, aluminum, glass and oil-based plastics, which other bottles are made from and are all produced from finite resources. We are rapidly using up our finite resources and while many of these other materials are recycled they would be better used in other industries, where they are of greater use.
What is Green PE?
I'm GreenTM Polyethylene is a plastic produced from ethanol sugarcane, a renewable raw material, while the traditional polyethylene uses fossil sourced raw materials such as oil or natural gas. For this reason, I'm GreenTM Polyethylene captures and fixes CO2 from the atmosphere during its production, helping to reduce greenhouse gases emission.
Also, the care with sustainability is present in the relationship with Braskem ethanol suppliers. Since the planting of sugarcane to the production of ethanol, suppliers must meet the principles of sustainable development present in the "Code of Conduct for Ethanol Suppliers " developed and implemented by Braskem, which covers aspects such as respect for biodiversity and good environmental practices.
I'm GreenTM Polyethylene retains the same properties, performance and application versatility of polyethylene from fossil origin - which facilitates immediate use in the plastics production chain. For the same reason, it also can be recycled within the same chain of recycling traditional polyethylene.
Can you explain what you mean when you say that the Yuhme water bottle is CO2 negative?
The production processes of all materials requires an input of energy and because these processes are not 100% efficient there is always waste produced, mainly in the form of what we have come to know as greenhouse gases ( Carbon dioxide, Methane, nitrous oxide, fluorinated gases and others). These production processes have a positive CO2 output because they release CO2 as a by-product of their manufacturing process.
Green PE on the other hand actually removes CO2 from the atmosphere because its raw material is sugarcane, which is a plant that sequesters CO2 from the atmosphere in order to grow. The sugarcane is then fermented and distilled. The left over sugarcane, called bagasse, is burnt and the by-Product of steam is used to generate electricity. The bagasse is subsequently used to run the plant that produces the Green PE and the excess is fed back into the grid. This combined leads to, what we call, a negative CO2 footprint in the production of Green polyethylene. The figures are per ton of Green PE produced/ -2.3 tons of CO2.

The bottle is designed and produced in Sweden in a no waste production site. We find this extremely important so that we can have full transparency within our supply chain and make sure workers and everyone involved gets treated correctly. It is only the raw material that is produced in Brazil.
Why water and why Water for Good?
In their own words, " We are working ourselves out of a job." They are committed to supplying the whole of the CAR with water but through engaging the local communities and involving them. This is the key, in our eyes, to solving the problem. The local communities must be given the necessary skills and responsibility to take care of themselves. It is the only way that the CAR and indeed any other community can build a long-lasting legacy of independence and self-sustainability. Is the bottle toxic free?
YES YES and YES! The water bottle is free from Bisphenol A and Phtalates. It meets EU regulations for materials, plastic materials intended to come in to contact with food. No additives beyond bio-plastics and masterbatch (colour pigment) are added in the process.

How are the patterns made?
The patterns are handmade by our amazing designer Adriana. They are designed with an activity in mind. An example of this would be the Endurance bottle that came to life from the vision of running alone downtown in NYC in the middle of the night with only streetlights and concrete as the view.
How is the pattern printed onto the bottle?
The pattern is printed in a one-of a kind printing machine using an extremely unique printing technique called warping which allows us to wrap the pattern around the entire bottle.
Is the bottle recyclable?
Yes, it is completely recyclable within the existing plastic recycling system.

How do I take care of my bottle?
The bottle is hardwearing but show it love by keeping it in a dry place and don’t sit on it! It can be washed in a dishwasher at a maximum of 70 degree Celsius. However, in order to keep the pattern looking sharp we do recommend hand washing. The bottle has been designed so that it is very easy to clean. The bottle is solely designed for water and cold drinks and should under no circumstances contain any hot drinks. Also, the bottle should never be put in the microwave. Be aware not to keep your bottle containing water lying in a bag with for example electronic equipment.
